Part of the national “Two-Minute Self-Check” movement, the campaign encourages individuals to examine themselves and loved ones—especially those using tobacco, gutkha, supari, or pan masala—for early signs of oral cancer. These signs include red or white patches, persistent ulcers, restricted mouth opening due to buccal fibrosis, tongue immobility, burning sensations while eating, and dryness of the mouth.

જૂનાગઢ, ગુજરાત – 23 જુલાઈ, 2025 – પ્રખર દંતચિકિત્સક ડૉ. ભરત અગ્રાવત અને ઓરલ કેન્સર જાગૃતિ પ્રવર્તક ડૉ. કૃતવ્ય અગ્રાવત દ્વારા નોબલ યુનિવર્સિટી, જૂનાગઢમાં મોઢાના કેન્સર નિવારણ અભિયાનનો આરંભ કરવામાં આવ્યો. આ અભિયાનનું મુખ્ય ઉદ્દેશ છે – વિદ્યાર્થી, સ્ટાફ અને સમગ્ર સૌરાષ્ટ્ર સમુદાયમાં મૌખિક કેન્સરની વહેલી તકે ઓળખ, આત્મપરીક્ષણ અને જાગૃતિ ફેલાવવી.
મિશન: ભારતમાં મોઢાના કેન્સર ઘટાડવાનો સંકલ્પ
ભારતમાં વિશ્વનો સૌથી વધુ મૌખિક કેન્સરના દર્દીઓ છે. આ અભિયાનના માધ્યમથી લોકોમાં “ટુ મિનિટ સેલ્ફ-ચેક” ની ટેવ વિકસાવવામાં આવે છે – ખાસ કરીને તમાકુ, ગુટખા, પાન મસાલા ચાવનારાઓમાં મૌખિક કેન્સરના આરંભિક લક્ષણો જેવી કે ફાઇબ્રોસ બેન્ડ ને કારણે મોઢું ખોલવામાં તકલીફ, સફેદ/લાલ ચાંટા, ઝીણાં ઘા, જમવાનું ખાવા સમયે બાળણી, જીભ ની હરકતમા અડચણ અને મોં સુકાઈ જવું જેવી ઘટનાઓ ઓળખવા માટે.
અભિયાનના મુખ્ય મુદ્દા
* ઓરલ કેન્સર એમ્બેસેડર: વિદ્યાર્થીઓ અને સ્ટાફને મૌખિક કેન્સર અંગે જાગૃતતા ફેલાવવા અને અન્ય લોકોને માર્ગદર્શન આપતા એમ્બેસેડર તરીકે તૈયાર કરવામા આવ્યા.
* જાગૃતિ સેમિનાર: ડૉ. કર્તવ્ય અગ્રાવત દ્વારા તમાકુ, ગુટખા, દારૂ અને HPV સંબંધી જોખમો અંગેની માહિતી આપવામાં આવી.
* લાઈવ ડેમો: મોં ની ફાઇબ્રોસ બેન્ડ ને કારણે મોઢું ખોલવામાં તકલીફ સ્થિતિ (ઓએસએમએફ – Oral Submucous Fibrosis) વિશે સમજણ અને “ટુ મિનિટ આત્મપરીક્ષણ” માટે છબીઓ, સ્લાઈડ શો અને માર્ગદર્શિકા સાથે તાલીમ.
* મલ્ટી-લેંગ્વેજ એજ્યુકેશન: ગુજરાતી, હિન્દી અને અંગ્રેજીમાં બ્રોશર, પોસ્ટર અને વિડિયો શિક્ષણ સામગ્રી વિતરણ.
